KARAKTERISTIK ECO-STRAW PURUN TIKUS (Eleocharis dulcis) DENGAN METODE PENGERINGAN YANG BERBEDA
The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the drying method on the characteristics of water chestnut straws (Eleocharis dulcis). This study used a factorial randomized block design (RAK-F) with 2 treatment factors, the first factor consisted of 2 levels, one day sun drying (H1) and two days sun drying (H2). The second factor consisted of three levels of treatment, without oven (O0), oven at temperature 100℃ (O1) and a oven at temperature 125oC (O2). All treatments were repeated 3 times. The data were analyzed using Anacova with covariance, initial moisture content and dependent factors were combination between day duration of sun drying and oven. The parameters that observed ware chemical analysis (moisture content) and physical analysis (diameter, color, water absorption, tensile strength, and bending strength). The results showed that the effect of different drying methods had a significant effect on moisture content, diameter and color but not significantly different on tensile strength and bending strength. And the results of the study show that the effect of the best drying method is found in treatment H2O2 (two days sun drying combined with oven 125℃).
