LAJU TUMBUH ISOLAT MIKROALGA ASAL RAWA LEBAK DAN SUMBANGAN AMONIUM PADA MEDIA DENGAN BERBAGAI pH
Problems that are often faced in lowland swamp land are low soil fertility in the form of soil acidity and poor nutrients such as nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium, so efforts are needed to increase productivity by means of fertilization. Fertilizers that can be used are biological fertilizers. Microalgae can be processed as a stock of biofuel agents. Microalgae are a group of microscopic plants in the form of single cells or colonies that live in all freshwater and marine areas. This study aims to analyze the difference in the pH value of the medium of microalgae from Lebak swamp with the best growth rate on the ammonium concentration and to determine the relationship between the pH value of the media and the ammonium concentration in the media. This research was carried out from August to November 2020 at the Laboratory of Chemistry, Biology and Soil Fertility, Department of Soil Science, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University, and the Laboratory of Physiology and Plant Development, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Sriwijaya University. Ammonium concentration analysis was carried out at the Industrial Baristand Laboratory of Palembang. This research method starts from taking samples, isolating microalgae, cultivating microalgae isolates and testing the ammonium concentration using the standard fenate method. Water samples for microalgae isolation were carried out using the probability sampling method in the shallow swamp waters of the Sriwijaya Indralaya University Experimental Garden. The results of this study showed that the microalgae identified in the microalgae from the Lebak swamp water that had been cultured in Johnson's growing media found 2 species of microalgae, namely nostoc and chlorella. The results of the ammonium concentration test showed that the total density of microalgae cells from the variation of the pH value to the optimal ammonium concentration was that a pH of 5.0 was reached around 5.37 µg L-1. The results of the relationship between the treatment of variations in pH value with microalgae cell density medium with a moderate contribution and can contribute to the nitrogen requirement for plants in the form of an ammonium concentration of 59.3%.
