This study aims to describe the values of character education in the novel Rantau 1 Muara by Ahmad Fuadi, as well as to determine the implications of the research results on Indonesian language learning in high school. The research method used is descriptive qualitative method with the values of character education in the novel Rantau 1 Muara by Ahmad Fuadi as the object of his research. The data in this study are quotes, dialogues containing the values of character education in the novel Rantau 1 Muara by Ahmad Fuadi. The research data source used was the novel Rantau 1 Muara by Ahmad Fuadi, published by Gramedia Pustaka Utama, Jakarta. The first printing in May 2013 was 407 pages. The data analysis technique used is content analysis technique. The results showed that there were 17 values of character education, namely, (1) religious, (2) honest, (3) tolerance, (4) discipline, (5) hard work, (6) creative, (7) independent, (8) democratic, (9) curiosity, (10) love for the homeland, (11) national spirit, (12) respecting achievements, (13) friendly/communicative, (14) fond of reading, (15) social care, (16) responsibility , (17) peace-loving. The implications of this research for learning Indonesian in class XII SMA are found in KD 3.9. Analyzing the content and language of the novel.
