This study aims to produce items based on High Order Thinking Skill (HOTS) in the form of a description with Voltaic cell material in class XII SMA/MA. Item development is carried out to produce valid, reliable items. In the development of items using the development model, namely Mc. Intire. Data on development research can be done using the validation of the raters and test results. The results based on the rater can be stated that the items are eligible to be tested by looking at the average value of validity, which is 0.727 so that it is included in the high category by looking at aspects, namely from the material, construction and language aspects. Based on the calculation of the results by producing 10 questions with valid class XII SMA/MA Volta cell material with an average value of 0.466 difficulty level included in the (medium) category, the average discriminating power of 0.492 included in the (good) category, average The average validity of 0.559 is included in the (enough) category, and the average reliability of 0.720 is included in the (high) category.
