EFISIENSI TENAGA KERJA PADA LAHAN RAWA PASANG SURUT MELALUI PENGGUNAAN TRAKTOR DAN COMBINE HARVESTER DI DESA MERAH MATA KABUPATEN BANYUASIN
Human labour is the most important labour in rice farming, from tillage to post-harvest. One way of reducing the use of human labour in farming is to empower agricultural mechanization by using machinery as a substitute for labour. Agricultural tractors are currently becoming an indispensable component of agricultural development. At this time, the tractor is used for various purposes, such as for tillage. Indirectly the use of combine harvesters can increase production by suppressing yield losses during the harvesting process because the entire process of cutting, transporting, threshing and rafting is carried out in one process. The purpose of this research is: To describe the effect of the use of tractors and combined harvesters on the use of labour in rice farming; To analyze the level of efficiency in the use of rice plant labour using tractors and combined harvesters with those who do not; To explain the problems associated with rice farming—faced and provided farmers solutions to increase rice production and yields. The selection of research location was purposively or intentionally. Data collection was carried out in January 2020. The research method used in this study was the Survey Method. This study took 50 samples from the total population of farmers in Merah Mata Village. Determination of the number of samples used in this study was a proportional stratified random sampling method for rice farmers in Merah Mata Village. The data used in this study consisted of primary data and secondary data. The results showed that (1) the use of tractors and combined harvesters in rice farming carried out by farmers in Merah Mata Village can reduce the amount of labour used, which has an impact on the efficiency of work execution time 3 weeks faster than usual time (without using a tractor and combine harvester). ) and the efficiency of wage costs that have been incurred, (2) The use of labour in land processing and harvesting for farmers using tractors and combined harvesters, if calculated manually, gets a value of 1.80 so that the use of labour is not efficient and the use of labour must be increased, while if it's calculated using the t-test, the value of t arithmetic ≤ t table (0.75≤1.76) shows that the use of labour for land processing and harvesting is efficient.
