SIMULASI KEKUATAN MEKANIK PLAT BAJA ESER SEBAGAI MATERIAL UNDERSHOT WATERWHEEL MENGGUNAKAN APLIKASI SOLIDWORKS
This study aims to determine the eser steel plate material as the undershot waterwheel blade material using Solidworks simulation based on the results of mechanical strength. There are two methods used in this study: an analytical method to determine the geometry of the undershot waterwheel blade, and a simulation method used to predict its mechanical strength. From the analytical results, the undershot waterwheel has 12 blades with a flow rate of 16 kg/s (160 Newton). From the simulation results, the mechanical strength of eser steel plate as an undershot waterwheel material using Solidworks is not recommended for use. This is because the value of the Von mises stress of the blade material exceeds the maximum yield strength of the eser steel plate, which is 250 MPa. This means that the Eser steel plate material to be the basic material for the undershot waterwheel blade is indicated to be less safe and less strong so that it cannot be used as an undershot waterwheel blade material.
