PENDAPATAN USAHATANI MONOKULTUR KELAPA DAN TUMPANG SARI KELAPAPINANG DI LAHAN PASANG SURUT DESA TELUK PAYO KECAMATAN BANYUASIN II KABUPATEN BANYUASIN
Monoculture farming pattern is one way of cultivation by planting one type of plant in one area, and this monoculture pattern has weaknesses. Where to overcome its weaknesses, applied a pattern of intercropping farming. The purposes of this research were (1) to describe the cropping pattern of smallholder coconut plantations and (2) to analyze the income of monoculture coconut farming and coconut-betel nut intercropping farming. Location from his research in Teluk Payo Village, Banyuasin II District, Banyuasin Regency. The research location has been selected purposively. The method used in this study was a survey method. This study took 90 samples from the total population of coconut farmers in monoculture and coconut-betel nut intercropping. The sampling method used in this study was proportionate stratified random sampling. The results showed that the coconut-betel nut intercropping pattern in Teluk Payo Village was applied using a rectangular system of 8m x 8m and 9m x 9m. Coconut harvesting was carried out an average of 3-4 times a year, while betel nut harvesting was carried out almost every month. There was a difference in income between monoculture coconut farming and coconut-betel nut farming. This difference in income was effected solely by the cropping patterns.
