PENGARUH JENIS BAHAN DAN KECEPATAN PUTARAN PISAU TERHADAP KINERJA MESIN PERAJANG KERIPIK
ABSTRACT This study aims to determine the effect of the type of material and the rotational speed of the blade on the performance of the chip chopper machine using cassava, taro and potato. This research was carried out from April 2021 to May 2021 at the Tool and Machinery Workshop, Department of Agricultural Technology, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University, Indralaya, South Sumatra. The method used was a factorial randomized block design (RAKF) with two research factors, namely the type of material (A) and blade rotation speed (B) with three treatment levels and each treatment combination was repeated three times. The results of this study indicate that the type of material treatment and the rotational speed of the blades have a significant effect on the effective capacity of the machine and material damage, but have no significant effect on chopping efficiency. The highest effective engine capacity value is found in the combination of treatment types of potato material and rotation speed of 658 rpm (A3B2) which is 288.90 kg/hour. For treatment, the most chopped efficiency was found in the combination of treatment types of taro material and rotation speed of 803 rpm (A2B1), which was 98.73%. While for the highest percentage of material damage found in the combination of treatment types of cassava material and rotation speed of 500 rpm (A1B3) which is 44.87%.The highest unifority of chopped thickness was found in the A3B2 treatment with the type of potato material and the blade rotation spee of 658rpm of 54.33%. Keywords: chip chopper, type material, knife rotation, machine capacity
