EVALUASI PERTUMBUHAN DAN HASIL PERSILANGAN TANAMAN PADI (Oryza sativa L.) VARIETAS SITU PATENGGANG DENGAN VARIETAS INPARA 8
This study aimed to evaluate the crossing of rice accessions that has tolerant traits to submergence stress at vegetative phase and rice accessions with tolerant traits to drought stress at the generative phase, and to get the growth and yield of two parental rice varieties. This research was started from August to December 2020 in the greenhouse of Agricultural Cultivation Department, Agriculture Faculty, Sriwijaya University in Indralaya Campus, Ogan Ilir, South Sumatra. This study used 2 rice varieties, namely Situ Patenggang and Inpara 8. Randomized Block Design was used to evaluate the growth and yield of parental varieties with total 30 plant units, while Reciprocal Crossing method was used in this research was 90 plants. Variable observed were plant height, tiller number per clump, panicle number per clump, grain number per panicle, grain number per clump, harvested dry grain weight per panicle, harvested dry grain weight per clump, dry grain weight per clump, empty grain percentage, 1000 grains weight, flowering age, harvesting age, and plant dry weight. While for crossing variables included number of resulted spikelet and crossing percentage. Data obtained from presenting the results of obsevations and measurements of old plants then were analyzed using Analysis of Variance and 5% Least Significant Difference test. Based on research results, parental variety of Inpara 8 has good agronomic characters than Situ Patenggang based on variables of plant height, tiller number per clump, panicle number per clump, grain number per clump, harvested dry grain weight per clump, dry grain weight per clump, plant dry weight. Situ Patenggang crosses as females produced 442 pithy grains with percentage of crosses 41 % better han Inpara 8 as females which produced 172 pithy grains with percentages of crosses 23%. Key Words : Crossing, Inpara 8, Situ Patenggang
