EVALUASI DAN PEMETAAN SEBARAN BAHAN ORGANIK TANAH UNTUK PENGEMBANGAN TANAMAN JAGUNG DI KEBUN PERCOBAAN FAKULTAS PERTANIAN UNIVERSITAS SRIWIJAYA
Soil organic matter is an important basic part of soil fertility, land productivity and land quality. Even in sustainable agriculture, soil C-Organic is a soil property that is used as an indicator of sustainable natural resources. The purpose of this study was to evaluate and map the distribution of soil organic matter content in the Experimental Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University for the development of maize (Zea mays L.). The research method used is a survey method at the level of detail with the help of a base map with a scale of 1:5,000 and analysis is carried out in the laboratory. Determination of the sampling point is done using GPS. The results showed that the distribution of soil organic matter in the Experimental Garden area of the Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University showed that the sample area with high organic matter content was ±20 Ha (43.48%) while the medium organic matter content was ±23 Ha (50%). and low organic matter content of ±3 Ha (6.52%) of the total research area. The low fertility status of C-Organic at the research site was due to the fact that organic matter was not given back to the land that had been produced previously. Meanwhile, the high C-Organic fertility status is caused by the diversity and amount of vegetation and large piles of litter. Soil organic matter content in the Experimental Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University in sample areas 1–16 belongs to the class very suitable for the development of maize (Zea mays L.).
