PENGARUH SEKAT KANAL TERHADAP DINAMIKA MUKA AIR DALAM RANGKA PENCEGAHAN KEBAKARAN DI LAHAN GAMBUT
The purpose of this research is to study the effect of canal blocking on the dynamics of water level in channels, land and also its relation to rainfall and water content in peatland in order to prevent fires in peatlands. This research was conducted in July-August 2020. The research location is located in Kedaton Village, Kayu Agung District, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency, South Sumatra Province with a land area of ± 4 ha. The research method using purposive sampling method consists of 4 sample points of soil samples with a depth of 0-30 cm taken for dilaboratorium analysis. Measurement of groundwater level and channels with wells pipes and pieschal boards is done daily at 07.00 WIB for two months. After the field data retrieval is then created a graph. In this study, the results of increased fluctuations in the water level of the channel and groundwater face were influenced by rainfall and the water contained in the channel can be held by the canal bulkhead. The highest rainfall was produced on August 12, 2020 with a value of 48.3 mm with an increase in groundwater level of 12 cm. The comparison of the canal partition between the upstream part of the canal partition with a value of 187 and the downstream of the canal partition is 180. The high groundwater level affects the water content, the higher the groundwater level, the higher the water content, the more it can prevent land fires. The highest water content is produced with a value of 941% with a water level of 15 cm below ground level.
