GAMBARAN AMSLER GRID PADA PENDERITA RETINOPATI DIABETIKA DI BAGIAN MATA RSUP DR. MOHAMMAD HOESIN PALEMBANG
Background: Maculopathy is the complication of diabetic retinopathy which is the major cause of vision disturbance. The occurrence of maculopathy does not depend on the severity of diabetic retinopathy. Hence, routine macular screening is really important and necessary. Amsler grid is an assessment for screening and monitoring the abnormality changes in macula and it is easily conducted. Therefore, this study was conducted to identify Amsler grid pattern of diabetic retinopathy patient at the Ophthalmologic Department in RSMH Palembang. Method: This is an observational-descriptive research in a cross-sectional approach. The minimal sample is 26 and the data were acquired from direct assessment. Result: Out of 31 patients, with the total of 58 eyes, the most frequent age of the sample is 53 years old and it was found that females were more frequent than males. Maculopathy were found 16,1% in the right eyes and 11,1% in the left eyes. The Amsler grid does not change in patient with no history of maculopathy. The changes only occurs in mild (0,1%) and severe (0,01%) NPDR patients. Conclusion: The changes of Amsler grid only occurs in maculopathy patient. The prevalence of abnormal Amsler grid pattern is 13,8%, macropsia is 6,9%, and metamorphopsia is 6,9%. The abnormal Amsler grid pattems are all diagnose as Clinical Significant Macular Edema (CSME).
