Introduction: Soil Transmitted Helminths (STH) infection is still an important issue for developing countries, especially in Indonesia. The high prevalence of this infection can ajfect the health of the infected person. Decline in consentration of learning and decrease academic achievement was one of the health effects caused by STH infections. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of STH infections to academic achievement among elementary school students in Sukarami village Pemulutan district Ogan Ilir regency. Methods: This research was analytic cross-sectional design. Respondens are 100 elementary student of SD N 19 Sukarami. Data was collected by the midsemester examinalion score andfaeces was examined using the Kato-Katz and Harada Mori. Results:The results obtained were analyzed using chi-square statistical test. From the research was known prevalence ofSTH infection was 10% with a ratio of7% in and 3% of women. Good academic achievement was identified that is 4% from 100% populalion with a ratio of 2% male and 2% female . The results of chi-square statistical tests on all samples obtained p = 0.348. Discussions: There was no relationship between academic achievement and STH infections in all samples. Need to conduct further research on the relationship of STH and academic achievement in the area which have suitable weather for STH’s reproduction.
