The purpose of this research were to: 1) Identify differences in the income of farmers who do and do not change land functions in D Muara Rungga, Pasemah Air Keruh District, Empat Lawang Regency Identify differences in the income of farmers who do and do not change land functions in D Muara Rungga, Pasemah Air Keruh District, Empat Lawang Regency, and 2) Identify the characteristics of farmers who do and do not carry out land conversion in Muara Rungga Village, Pasemah Air Keruh District, Empat Lawang Regency . This research was conducted in Muara Rungga, Pasemah Air Keruh District, Empat Lawang Regency. The research method used is the survey method. The sampling method used in this study was non-probability with 30 sample farmers, consisting of 15 farmers who did land conversion and 15 farmers who did not. The data processing method used independent sample t-test with the help of the SPSS application and descriptive explanations regarding the characteristics of farmers in the village. The results of this study indicate that there are significant differences between farmers who do and farmers who do not change land functions. The income cost of farmers who do cocoa farming is higher than coffee farming. The income of cocoa farmers has an average income of Rp32,691,333 per hectare per year, which is significantly higher than the average coffee farmer of Rp4,188,180per hectare per year. The three aspects of the approach that I discussed, social aspects, economic aspects and technical aspects. Of these three aspects, it is very significant to the income of farmers. Social aspect, farmers who have an advanced mindset and think rationally so that they make a change in plant types. Economic aspects, prices and acceptance that they can fulfill their lives. The technical aspect, the age of the plants that are getting old and the results of coffee production are not good, the farmers carry out a function transfer to come, so that it will make various local communities aware of the welfare that will be received by farmers.
