UJI KINERJA MESIN PENGERING OTOMATIS ULAT HONGKONG (Tenebrio molitor) TIPE RAK DENGAN PEMANAS KACA
The research objective was to determine the effect of temperature and fan speed on meal worm dryer machine. The method used was Factorial Randomized Block Design which consist two treatment factors, namely drying temperature (A) and fan speed (B). Each factor consists of three levels of treatment. The treatment level for drying temperature consisted of 55℃, 58℃ , and 61℃ while the treatment level for fan speed consisted of 1000 rpm, 1200 rpm and 1400 rpm. The results showed that the treatment of the drying temperature had a real different on the drying rate and material weight reduction but unreal effect on the consumption of electrical energy. The treatment of fan speed had a real different on the drying rate, material weight reduction and the consumption of electrical energy. The combination treatment of drying temperature 61℃ and the fan speed 1400 rpm (A3B3) had the highest average of drying rate and material weight reduction which sequentially is 38.57 g/jam dan 51.42 g, while the lowest average of drying rate and material weight reduction found in treatment of drying temperature 55℃ and the fan speed 1000 rpm (A1B1) which sequentially is 31.42 g/jam dan 41.89 g. The higher the drying temperature, the higher the consumption of electrical energy. Keywords: Drying machine, Mealworm, Test performance
