RELOKASI GEMPABUMI WILAYAH SUMATERA BARAT TAHUN 2017-2020 MENGGUNAKAN METODE MJHD (MODIFIED JOINT HYPOCENTER DETERMINATION)
The West Sumatra region is an active area of earthquake which is the result of the subduction of the Indo-Australian Plate with the Eurasian Plate. Precise hypocenter analysis is needed to understand about the accurate tectonic setting such as subduction zone in the area. To produce a more accurate hypocenter this hypocenter relocation is used to recalculate earthquake hypocenter by using the method of MJHD (Modified Joint Hypocenter Determination). This method adds a corrections station in the form of limitation on the depth and the epicenter so that it remains capable to relocate earthquakes position accurately even if the structure of the earth is very heterogeneous. The data used is the travel time data from the BMKG catalog in the period 2017-2020 with coordinates 1 ° LU - 3.5° LS and 96° - 102° BT. The results of the relocation showed a change of the earthquake hypocenter that is more accurate as evidenced by the small residual value and RMS value and the association between the relocation results and tectonic conditions in the study area.
