Red chili one of economic high value horticultural commodities. Ogan Komering Ilir Regency is one of the centers of red chili in the South Sumatra region. However, the production of red chili plants has decreased, due to the reduction in the harvested area of red chili. The production of red chili can be increased by using sub-optimal land, which one is using peatland. Problems that occur in agriculture on peatlands are the availability of relatively low nutrients and high soil acidity, which are limiting factors for chili plant growth. Ameliorant is a material that can be used to improve and increase nutrients in peatlands. One of the ameliorants that is easily obtained is manure, which can improve soil structure and increase the number of organisms in the soil. This research was carried out from October 2021 to January 2022 in Suka Pulih Village, Pedamaran District, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency. The design in this study used a Randomized Block Design. The treatment in this study obtained 6 treatments and 1 control, each of which was repeated 3 times, so this experimental used 21 treatments. The treatments consisted of chicken manure (5, 10, 15 ton ha-1), goat manure (5, 10, 15 ton ha-1) and control. This research data were analyzed using ANOVA, and further tested with orthogonal contrast. For hight effect the results showed that the treatment of chicken manure gave better results than the treatment of goat manure. Chicken manure at a dosage of 10 tons ha-1 and 15 tons ha-1 showed a better vegetative rate, namely the height and number of branches and accelerated the timing of flowered emergence. In general, the pH value of the manure soil has increased, but is still in the acidic criteria. This research had to be stopped, due to the rising ground water level in the research area, which made the research plants submerged and died.
