IDENTIFIKASI POLIMORFISME GEN VEGF 936 C/T PADA PENDERITA KANKER PAYUDARA DI RSUP DR. MOHAMMAD HOESIN PALEMBANG
Introduction: Breast cancer is the number two cause of death among women in the world after lung cancer. Incidence of breast cancer in Indonesia is estimated at 11-12 new cases per 100,000 population at risk per year; with the fact that more than 50% of cases already in an advanced stage. The ability of angiogenesis is essential for tumor growth and metastasis. One factor that has been well known proangiogenis is vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), is located on chromosome 6p21.3, which binds to receptors on endothelial cells of blood vessels so that teradi promotion of cell proliferation, migration and invasion into the tumor. The aim of this study is to identify polymorphisms of VEGF 936 C/T gene in RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang. Methode: This was a descriptive study with cross sectional method. The research was conducted in Biomolecular Engineering Laboratory of Microbiology Faculty of Medicine, University of Sriwijaya (FK UNSRI) in July until Desember 2011. The samples studied by PCR and cut with NlalH enzymes by RFLP technique. Results: The number of subjects in this study were 25 people. The mean age were respectively 46.92 } 15.08 years. The distribution of genotypes TT, CT and CC in case were 0 (0%), 9 (36%) and 16 (64%). The distribution of allele T and C in case were 18% and 82%. Conclusion: VEGF gene polymorphism was not found 936 C/T in patients with breast cancer in RSUP dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang.
