Background : Head trauma is deflned as trauma which occur on head structures that can cause structural or functional abnormalities. Clinical manitestations of head trauma is usually a decrease in consciousness that can be measured by GCS. In this study, head trauma are classiefled based on the level of conciousness. Untill now, there aren’t data about characteristic of pediatric head trauma at Mohammad Hoesin Palembang Hospital, therefore this study is aim to determine the characteristic of pediatric head trauma at Mohammad Hoesin Palembang Hospital. Method : This was an descriptive observational cross-sectional design. The research samples are childrens aged 1 month - 15 years old were recorded in the medical records and register at Mohammad Hoesin Palembang Hospital period January to December 2011. The variables in this study were age, gender, causes of trauma, type of managements, type of trauma based on level of consciousness, how long the treatment takes time, and outcome of patients. The collected data will be presented in a tables and its description. Results : A total of 135 patients were determined as samples in this study. In this study, average age for pediatric head trauma is 9,6 years old, boy is the most significant (72,9%), vehicle accident (76,3%), minor head trauma (74,1%), nonoperated treatment (67,4%), average time oftreatment is 8 days, and good patient outcome (98,5%). Conclusion : It can be concluded that boys more often suffer ffom head trauma with a ratio 2,5:1, vehicle accident is the most cause of head trauma, minor head trauma is the most common type, non-operated treatment is the most management ofhead trauma, and almost all of pediatric head trauma has a good outcome
