Background: Glaucoma is a defect ofthe eye that causes blindness at second degree after cataract. The characteristics ofglaucoma are optic discs deterioration and loss of Vision field. Types of glaucoma influence the treatment that were chosen. This research aims at knowing the glaucoma distribution and the type of glaucoma treatment. Method: This research is a descriptive research. Collecting data was taken from medical record retrospectively. The population and sample are all of glaucoma patients who had been examined in Ophthalmology Policlinic at dr. Mohammad Hoesin Hospitalfrom l5t January-31th December 2011. The variables ofthis research are glaucoma distribution and the type of glaucoma treatment itself Data were analyzed by SPSS (Statistical Packagefor the Social Science) version 19. Result: The number ofsample in this research was 110 respondents. However only 105 respondents could be analyzed. The distribution of Glaucoma is 61 patients (58.10%) suffered from primary glaucoma, 49 patients (46.67%) suffered from primary open angle glaucoma (POAG), 12 patients (11.43 %) sufferedfrom primary angle closure glaucoma (PACG), 33 patients (31.43%) suffered from secondary glaucoma, 9 patients (8.57%) sufferedfrom normo-tension glaucoma and 2 patients (1.90%) sufferedfromjuvenile glaucoma. The type oftreatmentfor POAG is 89.8% for medical treatment and 10.2%for operative treatment. In PACG ,there are 50% for medical treatment and 50% for operative treatment. In secondary glaucoma, there are 87.8% for medical treatment and 13% for operative treatment. All ofthe patients who have normo-tension glaucoma and juvenile glaucoma got medical treatment. Conclusion: Distribution of Glaucoma in Ophthalmology Policlinic at dr. Mohammad Hoesin Hospital from lst January-31th December 2011 based on the most types were primary glaucoma, secondary glaucoma, normo-tension glaucoma and juvenile glaucoma. The medical treatment of glaucoma is given all type of glaucoma. The most percentage is POAG, followed by secondary glaucoma, tension glaucoma, PACG andjuvenile glaucoma. The most percentage for operative treatment ofglaucoma is PACG, then POAG and the least is secondary glaucoma.
