PREVALENSI INFESTASI SOIL TRANSMITTED HELMINTHS (STH) PADA SISWA SD DI DESA SUKARAMI KECAMATAN PEMULUTAN KABUPATEN OGAN ILIR
STH infestation is one of infestation which spread out in tropical area such as Indonesia especially in rural zone. The category have high risk to STH infestation is children in school age. There are some factors indicated have relation with STH case, the factors such as social and economic behavior. The objective of the research was to known prevalence of STH infestation among elementary school student in Sukarami village, Pemulutan district, Ogan Ilir regency. This research was used observational descriptive with cross-sectional approach. From the research was got prevalence of STH infestation that were 2 person in Ascaris lumbricoides (20%) and 7 person in Trichuris trichiurci (70%) and also found mix infestation between the Ascaris and Tricuris in 1 person (10%). The proportion for men were 7 person (70%) and for women were 3 person (30%). STH most found in age range 9-10 years old each of them 3 person (30%). As many as 7 person (70%) was infected washing hand before eat and 3 person (30%) sometimes. 3 person (30%) were washing hand used soap, 4 person (40%) sometimes and 3 person (30%) were washing hand without soap before eat. Based on habit to washing hand after defecation obtained 8 person (80%) were wash hand and 2 person (20%) not do it. As many as 3 person (30%) wash hand used soap, 4 person (40%) sometimes and 3 person (30%) were wash hand without soap after defecation. Based on habit to cut nails was found 5 person (50%) cut nails once for 2 weeks. From 10 person were infected that found 4 person (40%) using sandals in activities and 6 person (60%) not. As many as 9 person students (90%) were infected their parents work as farmer and 1 person (10%) their parents was private work. As many as 8 person (80%) students were infected STH in their home used water from river to daily needed and 2 person (20%) used water from well. The prevalence of STH Infestation was lower than previous research about 10% and there’s not found infestation that caused by hookworm.
