The aim of this research is to evaluate the suitability of small holder coffee plantation on various class slope steepness at the study site. This research was carried out in May to June 2012, in Ulak Pandan Village, Merapi Barat Sub-District, Lahat District. Soil analysis was done at Chemistry Laboratory, Soil Sience, Agricultural Faculty, Sriwijaya University. This research used very detailed survey method with land area of 2 ha with 4 grade steepness of the slope, which is 41-60% (very steep), 16-25% (moderately steep), 9-15% (somewhat steep), and 3-8% (gentle). The number of investigation in each slope class are 3 site sampling points. The result shows that there are 4 actual suitability of land, it is N-s, S3-s,-S2-wfhs and S2-wn. The potential suitability is S3-r, S2 and S2-wr and S2- w. If the study site is given input of liming and fertilization on some points of observation. Specifically on steep land, the recommended soil conservation effafts is applying individual terraces, in order to prevent erosion while plants are young
