KANDUNGAN TIMBAL (Pb) PADA MEDIA PASIR TAILING YANG DITANAMI DENGAN Centrocema pubescens dan Pueraria javanica
Lead metal (Pb) is usually found in tin tailings. The formation of tailings was of the effects of mining. Tailings tend to have acidic pH that encourages dissolution as heavy metals, this later may poison soil and water. Legume Cover Crop (LCC) is potential for remediation of Pb in tin post-mining. Legume crops such as Centrocema pubescens and Pueraria javanica are highly tolerance to soil with one high concentrations of heavy metals. This rcsearch aims to measure Pb content in tin tailings media after planted by Centrocema pubescens and Pueraria javanica with or without the addition of mineral soil or compost. The results showed that the Pueraria javanica is better in lowering the Pb content in the media tin tailings than Centrosema pubescens does. The Pb content found in phytoremediation crop media using Centrosema pubescens plant most high at 2.79 mg kg 1 or decreased by 60.02 % Pb . While the media has a value using Pueraria javanica Pb contents were very low at < 0.01 mg kg’1 in all treatments decreased Pb contents or close to 100%.
