EVALUASI LAHAN UNTUK TANAMAN KELAPA SAWIT PADA BERBAGAI KELAS KECURAMAN LERENG DI PT. HINDOLI KABUPATEN MUSI BANYUASIN, PROVINSI SUMATERA SELATAN
The aims of this study was to evaluate the suitability of some soil properties in different classes of slope steepness for oil palm plantation and to recommand some inputs in order to optimize the production. This research was carried out in the plantation of PT. Hindoli (A Cargill Company) in Estate Tanjung Dalam, Sungai Lilin District, Musi Banyuasin Regeancy. Soil analysis conducted at the Chemical and biology Laboratory of Soil Departement, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University. This study used a very detailed level survey with an area of 12 ha for the three classes of slope steepness: 0-2% (flat), 3-8% (gentle) and 9-15% (moderately gentle). The number of observation point of each slope class were four, all of with have actual suitability S3f (marginally suitable) if it refers to the pH. Potentially, land with slope steepness 0-2% (flat) and 3-8% (gentle) is highly suitable (Si), where as land with 9-15% slope steepness (moderately gentle) is moderately suitable (S2). The nutrient availability, CEC and pH, with the provision of fertilizers, organik matter and lime, will be highly suitable as potential suitability
