RESPON PERTUMBUHAN DAN PRODUKSI CABAI (Capsicum Chinense var. Biquinho) TERHADAP KOMPOSISI MEDIA TANAM DAN WAKTU PINDAH TANAM PADA BUDIDAYA TERAPUNG
Biquinho chili (Capsicum chinense Var. biquinho) is one of chili variety from Brazil which means “Little Beak”, has a round fruit shape and has the bright red or bright yellow color, with a small beak-shaped protrusion hanging from the tip. This study aims to determine the appropriate planting medium and transplanting time on the growth and yield of chili (Capsicum chinense Var. biquinho) in transplanting time. This research was conducted from May to July 2021 in a Floating raft on pond of an off campus research facility located in Jakabaring (104°46'44"E;3°01'35"S) Palembang, South Sumatera. This research was arranged on factorial randomized block design with 2 factors. The first factor factor was the composition of the growing media consisting of Soil : Chicken Manure : Husk Charcoal M0 (1:1:0), Soil : Chicken Manure : Husk Charcoal M1 (1:1:1), Soil : Chicken Manure : Husk Charcoal M2 (2:1:2). The second factor was the transplanting time, consisting of P1 (20 DAS), P2 (25 DAS), P3 (30 DAS). The results showed that the composition of the planting medium had no significant effect on growth and yields of chili, but had significant effect on transplanting time of Biquinho chili growth. The best transplanting time treatment was obtained at 20 DAS (Days After Seedling) which gave the highest plant height, number of leaves, leaf width, leaf length, canopy area, and SPAD as well as production yields of fruit number, total fruit weight, total fruit density, total fruit volume and fruit dry weight. Keywords: Husk Charcoal, Biquinho, Floating method, Transplanting
