PENGETAHUAN, SIKAP DAN PERILAKU MAHASISWI ANGKATAN 2008-2010 DALAM MENGATASI DISMENOREA DI FAKULTAS KEDOKTERAN UNIVERSITAS SRIWIJAYA
Objective: Dysmenorrhea is menstrual accompanied by pain, which caused the young woman went to the doctor for a consultation and treatment. The prevalence of dysmenorrhea is quite high in reproductive age. There are many ways that can be carried out by someone who had to overcome the symptoms of dysmenorrhea. Behavior in dealing with the symptoms dysmenorrhea is influenced by many factors, including knowledge and attitudes a person has about dysmenorrhea. This study aims to describe the characteristics of knowledge, attitudes and behavior of the female students of 2008-2010 for overcoming dysmenorrhea in Medical Faculty of Sriwijaya University. Method: This research was a descriptive survey using a questionnaire. These study populations were all female students of 2008-2010 Faculty of Medicine, University of Sriwijaya. The samples taken in proportional stratified random sampling from the population and obtained 106 samples as research respondents. The data obtained were collected, processed and presented in the form of descriptive statements and quantified by percentage that equipped with a table of distribution and discussion. Result: The results showed of 59,43% had experienced dysmenorrhea dysmenorrhea and had the knowledge to determine the symptoms of dysmenorrhea experienced. The majority of respondents (68.87%) had an adequate attitude in dealing with dysmenorrhea and 80.19% had adequate knowledge of the dysmenorrhea. Conclusion: It is concluded from this study that knowledge and attitude that one has about dysmenorrhea affects a person to do the behavior tp overcome the symptom they experience. It is therefore necessary to hold seminars or counseling about this symptoms and the importance of Consulting a doctor to determine effective treatment of dysmenorrhea is.
