PROFIL PASIEN KATARAK KONGENTIAL YANG BEROBAT DI RSUP DR MOHAMMAD HOESIN DAN RSKM PALEMBANG ANTARA 1 JANUARI 2011-31 DESEMBER 2012
Background: Cataract congenital is opacity of the lens that is present at birth. Congenital cataract can be a distraction for children’s eye development so it needs to be treat immediately to regain the vision and prevent the complications. Method. The study is a descriptive survey retrospectively, using secondary data ffom medical record of patients. Population of this study were all patients with congenital cataract in RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin and RSKM Palembang between January lst 2011-November 3lst 2012 and those who were in inclusion criteria being the subject of study. Result: There were 20 cataract congenital patients, the raost patients of cataract congenital were boys, there were 14 patients (70%). There were 10 patients (50%) age group 7-12 months. Bilateral cataract (70%) more common than unilateral (30%). Comorbid ocular abnormality was nystagmus that found in 15 patients (75%) and tlie most comorbid nonocular abnormality was congenital heart disease that found in 7 patients (30%). The etiology of congenital cataract ussualy was Rubella infection there were 9 patients (33,3%). Conclusion: Cataract congenital was more frequent in boys than girls and most of them were 7-12 months age group. Congenital cataract bilateral more common than unilateral. The most common comorbid okular abnormality was nystagmus and comorbid nonocular abnormality was congenital heart disease. The etiology of congenital cataract ussualy was Rubella infection.
