Background: The incidence o f autism in Indonesia increased sharply and the symptoms vary from mild to severe cases of autism makes it difficult to diagnose early. One way to diagnose autism early in children is by knowing the profile of children with autism itself so that intervention and therapy can be administered early and optimal. Objectives: Identify the profile of children with autism in the Bina Autis Mandiri period January 2003 until December 2011, which included sociodemographic characteristics of children, the symptoms and clinical findings of children with autism, the most dominant aspects of the disorder as well as the characteristics of parents of children with autism. Methods: This study is a descriptive profile by looking at data on children with autism in the Bina Autis Mandiri. The study population is children with autism who are still in therapy at the Bina Mandiri Autism period January 2003 umtil December 2011 and samples taken in a purposive sampling as much as 72 data. Techniques of data retrieval in the form of questionnaires mother and medical records data. The data obtained were analyzed descriptively in the form of frequency distribution tables, and narrative. Results: Obtained characteristics of children with autism in the form of sex, age, birth order, symptoms and clinical findings, the dominant aspect. Parental characteristics such as maternal and patemal age, history of illness before and during pregnancy, a history of drug and food consumption during pregnancy, and parental employment. Conclusion: The majority of children with autism are male sex (90.28%), age of onset and age of children diagnosed 30 years and patemal age >35 years.
