HUBUNGAN ANTARA KEBIASAAN OLAHRAGA TERATUR DENGAN TINGKAT KEJADIAN DEPRESI PADA MAHASISWA FAKULTAS KEDOKTERAN UNIVERSITAS SRIWIJAYA ANGKATAN 2008
A study was held to investigate the incidence of depression in medical students of Faculty of Medicine University of Sriwijaya Class 2008 associated with regular physical exercise behaviour. From a total of 261 students, 166 were obtained as sample using Slovin’s formula with simple random sampling technique. This research was a descriptive analytic cross-sectional study. Data was collected from questionnaire that was based on National Depression Screening Day and S., Sadoso’s criteria of regular physical exercise. Based on sociodemographic characteristics, women 57,8% are more likely to have depression than men, most of them live with their parents, and 53% of all respondents are qualified for criteria of regular physical exercise. The prevalence of depression was approximately 26,5%, included all categories of depression.The data were analyzed using chi-square of SPSS ver. 16 Software where p < 0,05 considered null hypothesis rejected, means regular physical exercise behavior significantly associated with depression, with odds ratio 4,406.
