PENGARUH KOMPOSISI MEDIA TANAM ARANG SEKAM PADI DAN PUPUK KANDANG SAPI TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN DAN HASIL TANAMAN BAWANG MERAH (Allium ascalonicum L. Var. SS Sakato)
This study aims to determine the best planting media composition for shallot’s (var. SS. Sakato) growth and yields using rice husk charcoal and cow manure. Research was carried out in Sungai Ulak Village, Nalo Tantan Sub-district, Merangin District, Jambi Province with coordinates 1028’23” S 101032’11” E. The study started from August to October 2021. The study used a Randomized Block Design (RBD) with eight treatments. The following treatments were used, P0 = control, P1 = 50% soil : 50% rice husk charcoal, P2 = 60% soil : 40% rice husk charcoal, P3 = 50% soil : 50% cow manure, P4 = 60% soil : 40% cow manure, P5 = 50% soil : 30% rice husk charcoal : 20% cow manure, P6 = 60% soil : 20% rice husk charcoal : 20% cow manure, P7 = 70% soil : 20% cow manure : 10% rice husk charcoal, P8 = 80% soil : 10% cow manure : 10% rice husk charcoal. The observed parameters were leaf length, number of leaves, number of bulb, bulb’s fresh weight, bulb’s wind dry weight, and stover’s weight. The results showed that the planting media composition with treatment P4 = 60% soil : 40% cow manure had a significant effect on leaf length with an average value of 41.54 cm, the number of bulb with the average value of 21.22 bulbs, bulb’s wind dry weight per plant with an average value of 86.67 g, stover’s weight with an average value of 158.56 g.
