POLA PERGERAKAN PERUBAHAN SUHU PADA ALAT PENGERING GABAH TIPE BIN
The Research objective was to study the movement pattens of temperature changes on the rice bin drier. This study was conducted at Postharvest Laboratory, Agricultural Technology Department, Faculty of Agriculture. Sriwijaya University from April to October 2009. The study method was consisted of three steps covering the equipment design, equipment operation, and equipment testing. The program was designed to program ATMega 8535 microcontroler in order to observe the movement patents of temperature changes. Data was collected from three parts of drying chamber consisting of the bottom, the middle, and the upper. The observed parameters were temperature distribution, drying time, and LPG requirement. The result showed that the lowest part of temperature sensor indicated average value in the range of 35 to 45 °C the middle temperature sensor indicated average value in the range of 30 to 42 °C, and the highest temperature indicated average value in the range of 30 to 41 °C, respectively. The water content of Ciherang and IR64 varieties were about 14 %. The drying time of Ciherang and IR64 rice varieties 4.5 hours and 5.0 hours, respectively. requirement for drying process was 1.0 kg. The water content drawdown occurred fastly in the lom and middle parts of the drying chamber.
