RENDEMEN DAN MUTU GAMBIR DENGAN BERBAGAI PERLAKUAN PEMOTONGAN DAUN GAMBIR (Uncaria gambier Roxb)

The objective of this research was to indentity the rendement and quality of gambier with cutting treatment of gambier leaves. It was conducted fforn May 2010 to June 2010, at Chemical Laboratory of Agricultural Product of Agriculrural Technology Department, Agricultural Faculty, Sriwijaya University, Indralaya, Ogan Ilir. This research used descriptive method and the data was presented in tabulation. The parameters were rendement, water content, ash content, total acid content, colour, antioxidant, pH, and fenol. The research showed that the highest rendement reached at the full cutting treatment as high as 6.22 %; the highest water content was at original leaf form as high as 5.38 %; the highest ash content reached at the full cutting treatment as high as 2.45 %; the highest total acid content reached at original leaf form as high as 9.53 %. At the colour analysis, the highest lightness was at original leaf as high as 70.9 %; chroma at the full cutting treatment as high as 22.2 %; and the highest hue value was at the full cutting treatment with the value of 83.9 %. Antioxidant analysis showed that the highest value was at the original leaf with a value of64.575 %. The highest pH was at was at the full cutting treatment with a value 4.51 and the highest fenol content was at the treatment of original leaf as high as 0.069 %.
