PENGARUH PEMBERIAN TEPUNG KUNYIT (Curcuma domestika Val) DAN ASAM ASKORBAT DALAM RANSUM TERHADAP KUALITAS EKSTERNAL TELUR AYAM ARAB SILVER (Silver Braekel Kriel)
RISKI PRATIWI. The Effect of Giving Tumeric Flour (Curcuma domestica Val) and Ascorbic Acid in the Ration on the External Quality of Silver Arabian Chiken Eggs (Silver Breekel Kriel). (supervised by Mrs. ELI SAHARA). This study aims to determine the use of tumeric flour and ascorbic acid in the ration on the external quality of Arabic silver chicken eggs. This research was conducted for 7 weeks at the Experimental Cage Laboratory of the Animal Technology and Industry, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University. The livestock used in this study were 56 silver Arab chickens and 27 weeks of age. The ration used was a basal ration consisting of corn, rice bran and concentrat added with tumeric flour and ascorbic acid. The research design used was a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 4 treatments and 7 replications. As a unit of variable: R0 (Control), R1 (Basal ration containing 150 mg of vitamin C). R2 (Basal ration containing 1% tumeric powder), R3 (Basal ration containing 150 mg vitamin C and 1% tumeric powder). Variables observed were egg weight, egg index and shell thickness. The data were analyzed using variance (ANOVA) and if there was a significant difference, it wouldd be continued with Duncan’s test. The results of this study showed that the administration of tumeric flour and ascorbic acid in the ration had no significant effect (P>0.05) on the external quality of arabic chicken egg are egg weight, egg index and shell thickness.
