PENGARUH PEMBERIAN KAPUR TERHADAP pH TANAH, BESI TANAH DAN PRODUKSI TANAMAN JAGUNG (Zea mays L.) DI LAHAN RAWA DENGAN BERBAGAI KEDALAMAN PIRIT
Swamp land is land that contains pyrite in the soil. To achieve the goal of optimal development of swamp land which has several obstacles due to pyrite which results in low soil pH, liming of the soil can be done. This study aims to obtain the right dose of lime to improve soil quality in swamps with shallow pyrite depths so that maize cultivation produces the best production and to determine the best lime dose to reduce the occurrence of pyrite oxidation in swamp land. This research was carried out from August to December 2018 at the Experimental Pond Laboratory of the Aquaculture Study Program and soil analysis was carried out at the Laboratory of Biology, Chemistry and Soil Fertility, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University. The design used was split plot design with two factors. The first factor is the depth of the pyrite layer (P) and second factor is the doses of lime (K). The results obtained in this study were that the optimal application of lime as much as 6000 kg ha-1 equivalent to CaO was able to increase soil pH to 6.88, reduce pyrite oxidation with a value of 3.5 ppm and produce the best production of corn with a cob weight of 182.8 g and 130.0 g without weight. Key words: Swamp Land, Soil Fe, Soil pH, Liming, Pyrite.
