ADMERI DWIHARSA. The pin raill-type Miller Trial Test at Several Siever Hole Diameters and Disk Rotary Speeds on Working Capacity and Throughput of Milled Com for Feed (Supervised by R. MURSIDI and TRI TUNGGAL). The research objective was to determine the effect of siever hole diameters and disk rotary speeds on working capacity and throughput of milled com for feed using milling equipmeftt of the pin mill-type. The study was conducted at Farm Machinery and Equipment Laboratory, Agricultural Technology Department, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University from July to August 2004. The experimental design used in this study was Factorial Randomized Block Design using two factors treatment with three replications for each treatment combination. The first factor was siever hole diameters consisting of 2.5 mm (Di) and 3.5 mm (D2). The second factor was disk rotary speeds consisting of 2,250 rpm (Vj), 2,380 rpm (V2), and 2,510 rpm (V3), respectively. The observed parameters were working capacity, throughput of milled com that stayed in 25 mesh siever, electrical energy, loaded disk rotary speeds, loaded electrical motor speed, milling time, intake rate, and the magnitude of electrical current. The results showed that siever hole diameter and disk rotary speed had highly significant effect on working capacity and throughput of milled com that stayed in 25 mesh siever. The best throughput was produced using siever hole diameter of D2 (3.5 mm) and disk rotary speed of Vi (2,250 rpm) treatment in term of milledcomyield percentage with magnitude of 76.286 %, whereas the highest working capacity was produced using siever hole diameter of D2 (3.5 mm) and disk rotary speed of V3 (2,510 rpm) treatment with magnitude of 4,951 kg h -1. In conclusion, it was recommended to use siever hole diameter of D2 (3.5 mm) and disk rotary speed of Vi (2,250 rpm) treatment in order to get the highest throughput as well as to use siever hole diameter of D2 (3.5 mm) and disk rotary speed of V3 (2,510 rpm) treatment in order to get the highest working capacity.
