INSIDENSI, KARAKTERISTIK KLINIS, DAN KARAKTERISTIK HISTOPATOLOGI KANKER OVARIUM DI RSUP Dr. MOHAMMAD HOESIN PALEMBANG PERIODE JANUARI 2017 - DESEMBER 2019
Ovarian cancer is the sixth most common disease and the eighth leading cause of death in Indonesia. The types of ovarian cancer are divided into 5: epithelial, germ cell, sex cord-stromal, other cancers, and metastases. Thus, this study aims to describe the incidence, clinical characteristics, and histopathological characteristics of ovarian cancer at RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang from January 2017 to December 2019. The type of research which was conducted is a cross-sectional descriptive observational study. The sample of this study was all gynecological cancer medical records from January 2017 to December 2019. The medical records used included ovarian cancer medical records. The data used were secondary patient data taken at the General Medical Record Installation and the Anatomical Pathology Installation at Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Central Hospital Palembang. In the period from January 2017 to December 2019, 1581 samples met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The data indicated that the incidence of ovarian cancer tends to increase steadily from 2017 to 2019. The incidence of ovarian cancer obtained was 14.6% (2017), 10.3% (2018), and 13.6% (2019) in a row. The number of patients used to describe the histopathological characteristics of ovarian cancer was 111 patients. The most dominant ovarian cancer found was ovarian epithelial cancer (92.8%). The number of patients who were obtained to explain the clinical characteristics of ovarian cancer was 55 patients. From these 55 patients, 3 results were obtained: (1) age 40-49 years (38.2%) was the most common age of ovarian cancer patients found in this research; (2) history of multiparous delivery [P>1] (61.5%) was the most common delivery history found in 55 patients the most commonly found in this research; and (3) there was no difference in numbers between menopausal (49.1%) and non-menopausal (50.1%) groups of patients. The incidence obtained from 2017 to 2019 showed cases of ovarian cancer at 38.5%. According to the histopathological characteristics of ovarian cancer studied, it was found that ovarian epithelial cancer (92.8%) was the most common ovarian cancer in this research. Meanwhile, according to the clinical characteristics of ovarian cancer studied, 3 conclusions can be drawn those are (1) the age group of 40-49 years is the most common age group affected by ovarian cancer and there is a shift in the age of ovarian cancer patients from the elderly group (60 years and over) to the adult patient group (40-49 years); (2) A history of multiparous delivery was most common in this study (61.5%), and (3) both postmenopausal and non-menopausal patients were at risk for ovarian cancer
