PENGARUH KOMPOSISI MEDIA TANAM DAN WAKTU PINDAH TANAM TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN CABAI HABANERO (Capsicum chinense Jacq.) SECARA TERAPUNG PADA FASE VEGETATIF.
The habanero pepper (Capsicum chinense Jacq.) is a plant native to the Yucatán Peninsula. Having identical properties in fruit causes a hot sensation when consumed. This study aims to determine the effect of planting media composition and transplanting time on the floating growth of habanero chili (Capsicum chinense Jacq.) in the vegetative phase. This research was conducted from April to July 2021 in a Floating raft on pond of an off-campus research facility located in Jakabaring (104°46'44"E;3°01'35"S), Palembang City. This study used a factorial randomized block design consisting of 2 factors, the first factor was the composition of the growing media consisting of Soil+Chicken Manure+Husk Charcoal K1 (2:2:1), Soil+Chicken Manure+Husk Charcoal K2 (2:1:2), Soil+Chicken Manure+Husk Charcoal K3 (2:2:2). The second factor was the time of transplanting, consisting of T1 (20 DAS), T2 (25 DAS), T3 (30 DAS). The results showed that the composition of the growing media had no significant effect on the vegetative growth of habanero chili. The best transplanting time treatment was obtained at 20 DAS (Days After Seedling) which gave the highest growth for each variable of plant height, number of leaves, leaf length, leaf width, leaf area, canopy diameter, canopy area, and SPAD value
