BUMDes Karya Utama is a business entity in rural areas that runs a type of business based on local village potential management, engaged in rubber plantations for the people of Nusa Serasan Village, Sungaililin District, Musi Banyuasin Regency. The purpose of this study is to find out (1) how to develop a business carried out by BUMDes Karya Utama. (2) to describe the internal and external conditions in BUMDes Karya Utama. (3) to formulate a suitable strategy in the development of BUMDes Karya Utama. This research was conducted in Nusa Serasan Village, Sungai Lilin District, Musi Banyuasin Regency. The research location was chosen based on the consideration that Nusa Serasan Village is one of the villages that already has a Village Owned Enterprise (BUMDes). Sampling was carried out using purposive sampling consisting of BUMDes management, village officials, rubber farmer groups and UPPB. BUMDes Karya Utama is engaged in producing liquid smoke which is used as a rubber sap freezer. The business development carried out by BUMDes is by making grade 1 and grade 2 liquid smoke used as food preservatives. The internal condition of BUMDes can be seen from the promotion aspect, the business capital used, related to the production process, related to member participation. External conditions can be seen from the price offered, related to village community participation, and related to competition. The SWOT matrix analysis shows that Karya Utama BUMDes is in the quadrant 2 position of the ST strategy using a diversification strategy. The strategies offered are (1) Building administration by managing product licensing. (2) Contracts and cooperation with rubber farmer groups, UPBB and bokar auction sites. (3) Provide training on marketing network expansion and form a marketing team management
