STRATEGI PEMERINTAH INDONESIA DALAM MENGURANGI IMPORTASI BAHAN BAKU INDUSTRI FARMASI MENGGUNAKAN TECHNOLOGICAL CATCH-UP
This research aims to explain how the Indonesian government's strategy in reducing the importation of raw materials of the pharmaceutical industry uses technological catch-up. The current condition of Bahan Baku Obat (BBO) of the Indonesian pharmaceutical industry imports 90 percent. So, the Indonesian government has tried a Renstra (Strategy Plan) or roadmap in reducing the number of BBO dependence. Therefore, this study uses the theory of competitive advantage described by Michael E. Porter through five elements in the theory of competitive advantage, namely factor conditions, demand conditions, related and support industries, firm strategy, structure and rivalry, opportunities, and government policies. This research uses descriptive-qualitative research method. Sources of data collected by the authors are primary data and secondary data. Data collection techniques are carried out by conducting interviews with sources and documentation from various sources. The results of this study indicate that the Indonesian government's process of reducing imports of BBO involves government agencies (BUMN) and (private sector) which work together to encourage each other in reducing imports of BBO using technological technology catch-up R&D.
