CHINA-ASEAN FREE TRADE AREA (CAFTA) (STUDI KASUS PERDAGANGAN TEKSTIL CHINA DENGAN INDONESIA, VIETNAM, MALAYSIA, THAILAND, DAN MYANMAR TAHUN 2010-2018)
The increasing value of textile trade between China and ASEAN countries has prompted heads of state to establish the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area to facilitate unimpeded trade activities. This study aims to analyze why China's textile trade is superior to the five ASEAN member countries (Indonesia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand, and Myanmar) within the framework of CAFTA cooperation from 2010 to 2018. The theory used in this study is the theory of competitive advantage. The method used by the author is a qualitative method with secondary analysis techniques. The data were obtained by the authors through secondary sources, namely document/documentation-based, books, journals, and internet-based. The analysis obtained is that China applies a competitive advantage strategy in its textile trade with Indonesia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand, and Myanmar. The results of this study indicate that the competitive advantage strategy implemented by China in its textile trade has succeeded in increasing the export value of its textile trade from 2010 to 2018. This can be seen from the total value of exports and imports of China's textile trade. with Indonesia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand and Myanmar which continued to show improvement from 2010 to 2018. This unequal trade balance is certainly a challenge for future economic relations between ASEAN countries and China.
