PERAN AEKI (ASOSIASI EKSPORTIR DAN INDUSTRI KOPI INDONESIA) DALAM MEMBANTU PERKEMBANGAN EKSPOR PRODUK KOPI LAMPUNG KE JEPANG (STUDI KASUS PENOLAKAN KOPI LAMPUNG OLEH JEPANG)
This study aims to explain the role played by AEKI (Association of Indonesian Coffee Exporters and Industries) as an NGO (Non Governmental Organization) engaged in Indonesian coffee exporters in assisting the handling of barriers to carbaryl residues in the Lampung coffee trade to Japan in 2009-2012. The problem of inhibition of carbaryl residues is related to the MRLs (Maximum Residues Limits) policy that has been set by Japan for food and beverage products that will enter the country. This study was analyzed using the theory of the role of NGOs according to David Lewis and Nazneen Kanji who have 3 roles, namely as implementers, catalysts and partners to see what roles AEKI has played as an NGO in helping to overcome obstacles to carbaryl residues in the Lampung coffee trade to Japan in 2009-2012. The data obtained were analyzed using qualitative methods. The results of this study indicate that not only the Government has a role in international trade activities, in this study AEKI as an NGO also participated in assisting the handling of carbaryl residue barriers in the Lampung coffee trade to Japan in 2009-2012. Keywords: Exports, Non-Tariff Barriers, Coffee, Non-Governmental Organization, International Trade
