FENOMENA PERDAGANGAN NARKOBA DI INDONESIA TERKHUSUS DI PROVINSI SUMATERA SELATAN.
Drug abuse has become a global phenomenon and threat to mankind. At the national level, particularly in the province of South Sumatra, the illicit trafficking of international syndicate networks is increasing. The province of South Sumatra is no longer just a transit country but has become a destination for illicit drug trafficking. Drug abusers in South Sumatra Province increased significantly, in 2019 there were 2,071 suspects then in 2020 with 2,372 suspects aged 30 years and over. This study aims to obtain data and information about the factors that make the phenomenon of drug trafficking in South Sumatra Province and find out the level of difficulty in deciding the phenomenon of drug trafficking in South Sumatra Province. with descriptive and qualitative research methods. The results of this study indicate that the phenomenon of drug trafficking in South Sumatra Province is caused by the first, namely economic geography factors which include aspects of space, distance, location, and the position of space or region covering the existing population of South Sumatra, the second from the regional aspect. land border of South Sumatra Province to Jambi, Bengkulu, Lampung Province and sea border of South Sumatra Province with Bangka Belitung Province.
