PERAN WORLD WILD LIFE FUND FOR NATURE DALAM PELAKSANAAN PROGRAM UNTUK SPESIES HIU (ELASMOBRACHII) DI INDONESIA
This research aims to describe the role of the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) in the Implementation of the Program for Sharks (Elasmobrachii) in Indonesia. The significant decline in the shark population has made WWF as one of the International Non-Government Organizations participate in efforts to preserve this unique Indonesian animal. This research is supported by the concept of David Lewis and Nazeen Kanji, namely the role of INGOs (International Non-Governmental Organizations). The research method used by the writer is descriptive qualitative method, which aims to describe the facts related to the problem under study in words. Data collected by researchers through literature study, online data search, and documentation. The results show that WWF has succeeded in carrying out its role as an International Non-Governmental Organization engaged in the conservation of flora and fauna through the implementation of programs for shark species. this is indicated by the implementation of the program well and fulfilling the three roles of NGOs in accordance with the NGO theory presented by Nazneen Kanji & David Lewis.
