World Cup events have evolved from time by time. FIFA World Cup is no longer just a football match to fight for a trophy. The concept of interest might be discovered through the biggest mega sport events in the world. Qatar as a rich country in the world but have a small place and extreme climate at the summer take a step to be host of the FIFA World Cup Qatar. Qatar which currently has the main source of income through hydrocarbons oil and gas know that Qatar cannot depend on hydrocarbons continuously. The issue of corruption and human rights violations is not something that prevents Qatar for being the host of the FIFA World Cup This research aims to find out about what is the national interest of Qatar on the FIFA World Cup 2022. This research used the concept of national interest according to Donald E Nuchterlein which explains national interest used to know as a basic interest of a country; (a) Defence Security (b) Economic Interest (c) World Order Interest (d) Ideological Interest. The method used in this research is qualitative research method with descriptive analysis model. The result of this research shows that Qatar by the Government take the chance as a host of FIFA World Cup 2022 as a catalysator towards Qatar National Vision 2030 to be superb country at every sector.
