KELIMPAHAN GENUS FITOPLANKTON SEBAGAI INDIKATOR KESUBURAN DI PERAIRAN MUARA SUNGAI MUSI SUMATERA SELATAN
Abundance of Phytoplankton Genus as An Indicator of Fertility in the Estuary Waters of Musi River, South Sumatra (Supervisors: Dr. Rozirwan, M.Sc and Dr. Riris Aryawati, S.T., M.Si). This study discusses the fertility of the waters in the Musi River Estuary. In obtaining water fertility values, there are problems that must be faced, such as regarding the quality of the waters in the area. Water quality in an area is influenced by physical and chemical parameters. The method used in this study is a passive method using a 25 μm Plankton Net. After the sample is obtained, then the treatment and sample handling are carried out in the laboratory. Based on the results of the research that has been done, the abundance of phytoplankton is divided into 2 categories, namely abundance per station and abundance per class. Abundance values per station obtained ranged from 1013 cells / L - 8611 cells / L while the abundance values per class obtained were 45680 cells / L for the Bacillariophyceae class, 111 cells / L for the Cyanophyceae and Dinophyceae classes. The abundance of phytoplankton at each station shows that 70% of the stations are in the medium category (Mesotrophic) while 30% of the stations are in the low category (oligotrophic). Keywords : Phytoplankton, Abundance of Phytoplankton, Fertility Waters.
