The notarial profession in Indonesia is one that can only be performed by legal people. This profession is in great demand by the public because it is considered as a promising profession. With easier access and existing technology, it is easier for everyone to choose a profession, including becoming a notary. The notarial profession is mushrooming in the city of Palembang, so it is not difficult to find a notary if we need a notary. With so many notaries in an area, it will have the potential for unfair competition. Badmouthing each other in the profession is an unethical act. The problems of this study were: how was the competitive practice between notaries in the city of Palembang in terms of honorarium to make deeds, and what were the factors influencing unfair competition between notaries in the city of Palembang in terms of honorarium to make deeds. To answer the questions, this study used empirical research method by interviewing several notaries and resource persons. The research results show that notaries have the upper limit rate in which notaries charge fees based on several sociological and economic factors. In addition, notaries must uphold the code of ethics so as not to undermine the reputation of fellow notaries, especially in terms of honorarium for the deeds. There should be a stipulation or provision regarding the honorarium so that there is uniformity in the rates of honorarium. With the existence of a low rate of honorarium, the quality of deeds made might decrease so that it would have an impact on the clients. In addition to the lower limit rate which is very much needed, the notary's compliance with the regulations is a factor that would create uniformity in the rates of honorarium for the deeds.
