PENGARUH JENIS PAKAN BERBEDA TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN TUKIK PENYU HIJAU (CHELONIA MYDAS) DIPENANGKARAN PENYU PANTAI TONGACI SUNGAILIAT
Currently the population and existence of green turtles are threatened with extinction. One of the factors that led to the extinction of the green turtle is natural and human factors. Therefore, conservation and rescue efforts are needed for their survival in the future. Success in the growth of hatchlings into adult turtles can be determined by feeding. Adult green turtles are herbivores, while turtle hatchlings are omnivores. Giving different types of feed is thought to affect the growth of green turtles. The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of feed and identify the right type of feed for the growth of green turtle hatchlings (Chelonia mydas). The research location was carried out at the Tongaci Beach Turtle Hatchery, Bangka Belitung Islands, for 4 weeks from November to December 2020. The research method used was an experimental method using a completely randomized design (CRD), with 4 treatments, namely feeding dencis fish of the genus Sardinella as a control (K), feed for dried shrimp from Acetes Indicus (A), feed for tuna species Euthynnus affinis (B), and feed for seaweed species Eucheuma sp (C). Each treatment had 4 replications. The results of observations of water quality parameters, namely temperature, salinity, and pH have an optimal range during the study. The results showed that giving different types of feed gave significantly different effects on the growth of weight, length, and feed convertion of green turtle hatchlings. Giving different types of feed did not give a significantly different effect on the growth of green turtle hatchling width.
