BIOLOGI PENTALONIA NIGRONERVOSA PADA TANAMAN KELADI TIKUS (TYPHONIUM FLAGELLIFORME) DAN EFISIENSINYA SEBAGAI VEKTOR BANANA BUNCHY TOP VIRUS
P. nigronervosa is an insect that acts as a vector for Banana Bunchy Top Virus, which causes the affected bananas to become stunted and even bear no fruit. This research was conducted to determine the biology of P. nigronervosa in rodent tuber (Typhonium flagelliforme) and to determine the efficiency of BBTV transmission by Pentalonia nigronervosa after being passed to rodent tuber plant (T. flagelliforme). This study was arranged in a Randomized Block Design (RBD). Which was repeated 10 times where one replication consisted of 3 banana plants. The parameters observed were Biology of P. nigronervosa, incubation period, and incidence of disease of BBTV. Based on the results of this study, it was found that the biological test of P. nigronervosa on the tissue of rodent tuber has 4 instars namely 1,2,3, 4 instars and then becomes imago. The imago on this rodent tuber plant was wingless and has a blackish brown color with a body length ranging from 1.4 mm to 1.7 mm. In the inoculation treatment on banana plants, it was found that the rodent tuber plant could not prevent or inhibit the spread of the BBTV disease or virus but could be an alternative host for P. Nigronervosa
