POTENSI ENDOFIT ISOLAT-ISOLAT JAMUR ENTOMOPATOGEN ASAL SERANGGA DAN TANAH TERHADAP BIBIT JAGUNG PADA MEDIA HIDROPONIK DAN PATOGENISITASNYA TERHADAP LARVA Spodoptera frugiperda
Spodptera frugiperda is an invasive pest of maize. This pest is able to attack almost all parts of corn, including stems, leaves, and cobs. In addition, S. frugiperda attacks the corn from the generative phase to the vegetative phase and this can cause high losses. Effective control that can be used in controlling S. frugiperda is by using endophytic entomopathogenic fungi. Endophytic fungi can enter plants, associate with them, and infect S. frugiperda. Therefore, this study aimed to determine the endophytic entomopathogenic fungi to test the pathogenicity of endophytic entomopathogenic isolates against S. frugiperda larvae. This study was conducted using two experiments designed according to a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) and a Randomized Block Design (RBD) with the treatment of 11 isolates with codes namely BKbTp, BSwTd4, MSwTp1, MSwTp3, LLPGA, PDPD, TOPGA, JGPB260521, JGTP030621, KBTP090621, JGPB260621 and the control was repeated three times. The method used in this study was the fungal colonization test on corn leaves and the entomopathogenic fungal pathogenicity test which was proven to be endophytic against S. frugiperda larvae. The variables observed in this study were fungal colonization on corn leaves, conidia density, conidial viability, leaf area eaten, larval body weight, excrement weight, larval mortality, LT50 and LT95, percentage of pupae appearing, normal and abnormal imago, body weight and length of pupa, imago appeared, normal and abnormal imago, body length and wing span of imago, age of imago, number of eggs laid, number of eggs hatched, number of unhatched eggs and the influence of entomopathogenic fungi on the growth of maize seedlings, environmental characteristics around the media plant maize seeds. The results showed that 6 isolates were endophytic, namely BSwTd4, LLPGA, PDPD, TOPGA, JGTP030621, and KBTP060921. The highest pathogenicity of fungal isolates in controlling S. frugiperda reached 33.33%. In TOPGA isolates with LT50 16.30 days and LT95 31.45 and the lowest was isolate MSwTp3 2.67 with LT50 25.85 days and LT95 40.99 days. Infected S. frugiperda causes stiff, shriveled, and covered with mycelia on the cuticle surface. The conclusion of this study were that entomopathogenic fungi that were proven to be endophytic, namely isolates BSwTd4, LLPGA, PDPD, TOPGA, JGTP030621, and KBTP060921 could affect the growth of maize seedlings from the results of 14 days of observation and their pathogenicity to S. frugiperda with the highest mortality in TOPGA isolates.
