NILAI KECERNAAN BAHAN ORGANIK (KBO), SHORT CHAIN FATTY ACID (SCFA) DAN N-AMONIA SILASE AMPAS SERAI WANGI (Cymbopogon nardus L.) SECARA IN VITRO
This study aimed to study the digestibility of organic matter (KBO), short chain fatty acid (SCFA) and n-ammonia silage of citronella pulp in vitro. This research was conducted in December 2020 at the Animal Nutrition and Food Laboratory, Department of Animal Husbandry Technology and Industry, Sriwijaya University and the Pati Agricultural Environment Research Institute, Central Java. This study used the t-student test method with 2 treatments and 10 replications. The treatments consisted of P1 (Serai Fragrant Dregs) and P2 (Serai Fragrant Dregs Silage). The parameters observed were the digestibility value of organic matter, short chain fatty acid and n-ammonia silage of citronella pulp in vitro. The results showed that the use of citronella pulp silage had a significant effect (P0.05) on the value of n-ammonia, propionate and butyrate. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the nutrient content of the citronella pulp silage is higher than that of the citronella pulp.
